Theresa Y Wee, MD.
Dr. Theresa Wee is a practicing pediatrician, wellness expert, and a mother of four. She has devoted her life to helping others by sharing her expertise as a healthcare professional, as well as by sharing her own experiences as a human being.Over the 40 years of private practice as a pediatrician, she saw children become more overweight and obese, which is now the number one health crisis in America. For the first time in our country’s history, our children will be unhealthier than their parents. As a working mother and physician, she gets it. She even experienced her own family getting unhealthy and now has a passion to share the tips and secrets she has learned over the years to treat and prevent this problem.Through her experience, she has discovered that the key to improving everyone's health is reconnecting with families and having everyone work towards common goals towards better health. This program must include parents, grandparents, normal-weight siblings, babysitters, and anyone else closely connected to the family for it to be successful. The shared tips and secrets she has learned over the years will help launch you and your family towards a lifetime of better health and happiness.11 years ago, in 2010, her husband of 30 years and business partner died suddenly and unexpectedly, and she had to decide whether to quit medicine or continue forward. She chose the latter, and through the grace of God, opportunities began to present themselves. She bought, designed, and constructed her new office, and then began her new practice, Wee Pediatrics, Inc. Through a generous grant, she was able to conduct free family workshops that empowered and educated families on addressing and preventing obesity. This family program yielded remarkably positive results, and she went on to present her program nationally on several occasions. This program resulted in her first book, “The Happy Healthy Revolution: A Working Parent's Guide to Achieve Wellness as a Family,” which is a summary of these family workshops. Her second book, “My Covid-19 Diary: Practical Tips and Scriptures for Improbable Times from an American Doctor,” was released 2 years later. In this book, she offers practical advice on navigating the pandemic as well as other challenging times in life. She shows you practical ways to keep moving forward, persevering, and even thriving, with God by your side. Both books are now available on Amazon as paperbacks or e-books.She has been an inspiration to many and has made it a lifelong goal to improve the health of Hawaii.
